Update

I haven't been posting much lately because I'm busy studying for exams. But, I did want to let everyone know how baby is doing.
Baby now has three teeth breaking through - the two front teeth and one on the bottom. I've tried to get pictures of his teeth, but he won't keep his mouth open long enough for me to get the shot.
Baby is standing on his own for a few seconds at a time. He is just beginning to realize that he has this ability. I'm hoping that he walks by September.
I have to say that baby is the friendliest little guy I've ever met. We went through a short period of stranger anxiety, but that is gone. He smiles and reaches for everyone. Whenever we go shopping or out to eat, he smiles and coos at cashiers, waitresses, etc. Most of all, he loves other babies and children. He was reaching for a newborn at church on Sunday. I'm not sure if I should be happy or scared about this!
We are so blessed!

Happy Birthday!

Today is baby's 1st birthday. It's hard to believe that a whole year has passed by. I thought the first 4 months would never end, but now time is flying.
Baby has lost a lot of his "baby fat" and looks like a toddler. He is very tall and slender. He continues to cruise the furniture, but hasn't shown much interest in walking on his own. I'm sure that will come with time.
We are having a great summer! We just finished a visit with baby's aunt, uncle and 2 cousins. Baby loves kids and other babies! I can just picture him at Christmas time, wanting to be in the middle of the fray with the big kids. He'll be trying to grab the Wii controller out of his cousins' hands.

St. Jacob of Nisibis

July 15th was the Feast of St. Jacob of Nisibis. St. Jacob was a bishop in Mesopotamia who was dedicated to learning and built the theological School of Nisibis. Let's hope his namesake has the same dedication to learning and pedagogy.

And there you have it. Baby's first tooth is starting to break through the gums. It's about time! We'll post a pic when it has finally arrived.

We're Back

We spent the last week in PA visiting friends and family. We had a great time! Baby had plenty of opportunities to swim and really seems to like the water since it's warmed up.
We also celebrated baby's birthday a little bit early.
We got a new camera - enjoy all of the pictures. I'll post some new videos soon.
