First Sickness

This week baby experienced his first illness. Most babies get a cold or some type of respiratory infection first. Not our baby. He went right to a stomach virus. Lots of diaper and outfit changes. Yuck!
But, even through the illness, he remains pleasant. We are pretty lucky that he made it through the first 9 months without even a sniffle. He must have daddy's immune system.

Nine months

Baby will be nine months old Thursday. He is maturing so much! He sits up on his own and is very close to crawling. He drinks from a cup and attempts to feed himself small pieces of food. He can stand for short periods of time by holding onto the couch. He continues to eat and sleep well. I'd say that we are very blessed!

Virginia Tech

We are so deeply saddened by what transpired at Tech this week. We are also relieved to hear that our friends are all safe.
What are senseless tragedy. I don't think there is any way that a school could ever prepare for something of that enormity. I just can't seem to wrap my mind around it.
It is by the grace of God that we are here in Cincinnati and not Blacksburg. Greg was supposed to be finishing up his PhD this year instead of last. I never thought that I would feel safer in Cincinnati than Blacksburg, VA. Go figure!

Go Hokies!

Surgery

Baby had outpatient surgery at Cincinnati Children's Hospital today. It was a delicate surgery that he probably won't want to hear about when he gets older. Catch my drift?
Anyway, had did exceptionally well, despite the fact that he fasted for 15 hours. We brought him home at 10am after a 7:30am surgery. You'd never know that he went under the knife today. He's up and playing, eating and socializing.

Happy Easter!

We've been very busy these last few weeks. Last weekend, our community had an Easter egg hunt. Even though baby was too little to find eggs, we had a great time! We entered a raffle benefitting the Susan Komen foundation and ended up winning the grand prize - a 32 in. flat screen TV! Not bad.

We are in the process of renovating the house. We're painting the entire first level and hope to have hardwood installed in the next 2-3 weeks. The people who lived in our home previously seemed to like the color white. The walls, carpet and appliances are all white. Not for long. We are finally adding some color to this dull, boring domicile.

Baby is doing well. He went for his 9 mo. check up about 2 weeks early. He weighs about 17 lbs. and is 28 inches long. He is now eating meat and most other foods. He continues to sleep well and play hard! He is sitting up on his own and really wants to crawl.

Spring Has Sprung!

We love the warm weather! Baby especially loves spending time outside swinging, sitting in the gazebo and going for stroller rides.
